Burning Permits: Call the DNR,
866-922-2876
Burning permits can only be issued for the burning
of leaves, brush, grass and stumps. State Law for any open burning when the
ground is not covered with snow reqires a permit. Callers will be
given a permit number to write down and an internet option (WWW.michigan.gov/burnpermit)
allows anyone interested in a permit , to input their information and print out
a copy of their burn permit.
Midland Township Fire Department is the first response for all
areas in the township. Mutual Aid is requested from other departments if needed.
Some of you in the township may have received a fire bill from the Township
Clerk. The Township has an Ordinance that allows the Township to bill the
individual who had a fire run for a structure, car or grass fire, CO
malfunction, hazing, smoke removal, etc., for all charges for the fire run. We
are asking that you forward the bill to your insurance company. Most Insurance
Companies will pay for fire runs. If your insurance company will NOT pay and you
have a fire charge, please notify the
Township Clerk, Sharon Fleming at 989-643-6112

The Township hall is located at 3012 S. Homer
Rd in the center of the township,
at the intersection of West Freeland and South Homer roads.
Mt Haley is a relatively small township, only
6 miles by 4 miles in size, located in the south
central part of Midland County.
Township board meetings are held on the
2nd
Monday of each month commencing at 7:00pm in the township hall.
The township hall office does not have hour's that are manned. All inquiries should
be directed to the township Clerk, Sharon Fleming, 989-643-6112 or to the Supervisor, Dick
Dougherty, 989-633-9121 . Both have answering machines so messages can be left and calls will
be returned as soon as possible.

Trash pick up is every Thursday, and recycling is
picked up every other Thursday. In
the event of a Monday holiday, the pick-up schedule is slipped one day and is
then done on Friday.
Trash and recyclables should be at curbside on
pickup day
prior to 7:00 a.m.
